Does anybody know about gestational diabetes tests?

Hi, I took the 1 hour gestational diabetes test last night and I see my results online as a 76…I have no idea if this is good or bad? I had to drink some juice, sit at the docs for an hour and then they drew blood. Does anybody know whats the highest # you can get w/o being considered having diabetes?

well, 76 is very low- 100 is normal, i don’t think you need to worry about gestational diabetes at all. congratulations on the baby.

Finding brand name diabetic test strips below retail cost would be a dream come true for many diabetics buying from their local pharmacy. For some, this is indeed a reality and a great boost for the monthly budget! Without a decent insurance plan we know how fast these strips can drain your wallet, especially if you test more than just a few times a day! Thankfully, there are avenues in which you can purchase top brand name test strips for your blood glucose monitoring.

Often times settling for a no-name brand or just one that we are not used to in order to save money leads to frustration and even less testing than we know we should be doing. Using a brand we are familiar and comfortable with helps to keep us in routine. Here are some great suggestions for finding “your brand” of diabetic test strips at below retail prices.

Craigslist. This is simply an online classified ad service that is specific to your city. You will be surprised how many people sell their extra strips on this site. You can do a search for your brand and chances are you will find a listing. You simply call or email and make arrangements. You will meet in person, a great way to check out the strips and get to know the seller. You may even strike up a deal where they call you when they get an extra box instead of bothering to list!

Amazon. This is an online marketplace that has quite a few tops brands like One Touch Ultra, Freestyle Lite, Accu Chek and other well known brand names. The prices on this site will usually be lower than Craigslist and the variety will be better. All products are “Buy it Now” with no bidding. This is not an auction site. You will have to use the mail to receive them. The site is easy to use and navigate.

eBay. This site is going to offer you the most variety and more than likely the lowest prices. Brand name strips abound in just about any quantity you would need and the prices can be more than 50% off retail! There are “Buy it Now” listings and the traditional online auction format, which is where you can really save if you don’t mind waiting a few extra days for the auction to end. Communicating with the seller is easy and their feedback system is great for finding the best, top rated sellers. Like Amazon, these strips will arrive in the mail in most cases.

If you find yourself struggling with money for your brand name diabetic test strips, these sites are well worth checking out. Most of the strips you find on these sites are simply extra strips and in perfect condition with good expiration dates. The sellers make some extra money and you pay far below retail for the brand name strips you need. A win – win for everyone!
